I’m 28 year old Sarah Riggott living in temporary exile in Guatemala. I’ve been there since September 2009 working for GVI, as a project manager.
I was recently asked to list five things that are important to me, so in no particular order: friends and family, volunteering, free education for all, equality and my job
An interesting fact about me is that I love writing lists. Here are some more facts about me:
a) I have lived in five different countries and love Guatemala the most
b) I ran the Reading half marathon and trekked the Inca Trail last year for WRVS, the fantastic charity I used to work for as a direct marketing manager
c) I was once told I should be Prime Minister, but it hasn’t been suggested again
d) I speak French and Spanish although probably not as well as I should and was recently taught some Mandarin and Zulu
e) I would love to run my own project working with children although I probably need to give it some more thought.
I have photos on flickr and can be contacted by email: sarah.riggott@gmail.com.
Hey Sarah
Just a quick message to say you are truely an inspiration. You remind all of us about the more important things in life. Guatemala is clearly a life changing experience for you. May you have many more opportunities to grow and develop and to share your wisdom with many other people.
Keep in touch and hope all is settling down in Guatemala.
